Contributor and friend of II Animal Style has put out a new 5-track EP for free download at what we like to call our sister label, File Freakout. Entitled “What is Species?”, the album explores deep rhythmic and melodic exploration and incorporates Joey Mariano’s hiss-free, raw gameboy sound with great guitar work that resembles the pulse-width modulated lead sound made popular in the demoscene.
Temp Sound Solutions and Alex Mauer’s grand opus “Blast Portable” featuring the compositions of the latter produced and accompanied by the guitars and drums of the former, is now available through II for $8. Despite generating decent amounts of buzz and a few hundred folks downloading the sampler, we’ve only sold 9 copies of the album to date. As you might imagine we find this mildly depressing and we encourage everyone to check out the sampler and seriously consider purchasing this gem of an album. You’ll love it, we promise!
