Sketches of Pain combines the playfulness of techno music with the experimentalism of progressive rock. The music lives in colourful landscapes where detailed rhythmic patterns meet lively joyful melodies that sometimes border on the naive.

Jon collaborated with programming genius Upland (Jester Records) on the final stages of the record, resulting in a vastly detailed and textured album.
