Giant Claw – Erasers Fantasy
Prog rock for a scattershot, disenfranchised, noise-loving modern age. Featuring two members of Yakuza Heart Attack, Giant Claw have made a super rock symphony; a fantasy world described entirely through drums and synthesizers. It’s crackling in-the-red Doom, Tchaikovsky with a distortion pedal and a machine gun, a brooding audio cartoon without any erasers.

Anyone else having trouble with the MP3 zip?

I’m a minute into the first song… Wow. This is awesome.

Oi! Ow, ow, ow. My ears.
I’m glad other people like it, but man, not my style at all.

Guys, in my opinion you have overdone.

Prog rock for a scattershot, disenfranchised, noise-loving modern age, eh? ;p sounds like 70s ital-prog meets the toy prog of 80s japan. that’s not to say this ain’t amazing, though!

This is disgusting. In a great way.

@craig: Only if your trying to play the files while their still inside the zip. Extracting them to a folder should solve that problem. And then be sure and close the zip file when your done extracting it. But yeah, I had a little trouble too.

Ugh. A horrible departure from II’s regular fare…

Hah!

Meh, it was okay. I admire the amount of skill it must have taken to make this, its very complex. However, I didn’t really enjoy the album because it was too crazy with the rythems and stuff and I couldn’t really follow anything (I listen to Dev/Null, but that’s a special exception haha). I really enjoyed III however.

I’m glad some people are voicing their opinions on this one. It’s interesting to get some perspective!

This is the chiptune record I’ve been waiting for. Stellar.

How can anyone hate this? There are definitely a few Pause records that bore me, but this is far far FAR from them. Really well crafted tunes here.

Reminds me of TARKUS

i have listened to this album at least 10 times today. fuck its good. when i first got it, i LIKED it, but was kind of not SUPER into it, but today, its really clicked with me. goddamn. its like ELP on meth.

Whoa, this is really killer! Not at all what I expected. As a fan of old-school Genesis (the band) and King Crimson, this is really hitting the spot.
June 14th, 2010 at 9:34 am
haha i like how seanbutnotheard had to clarify what he meant by Genesis. gotta know your audience
.
THIS ALBUM IS STILL SLAYING ME.

Pretty uncommon. Nice.

i listened to this in Sweden a bunch when my girlfriend would go and practice singing and i’d get in the shower. I dug it a lot then and i bet i’ll dig it even more now.

Bach meets Nintendo meets Susumu Hirasawa. This is wonderfully crazy and highly irregular! This goes straight into my japanese music collection.

It’s not japanese
?

This is pure awesomeness, to me, this is among the best entries of this label. Great originality and I’m addicted to that refresh 70′s prog-rock sound. I’d be happy to have a CD of this album!

Probably one of the best things I’ve ever heard–and I have no idea why.

amazing album!!

Forget the last comment – I just listened to it again on huge PAs and it’s blowing my mind. It’s like if the members of Goblin got trapped inside a synth chip and had to battle their way out. absolutely epic record.
